Now more than ever before your online-self is more valuable and vulnerable. The modern connected world is filled with countless threats, seeking an open door to attack what’s most valuable to you — your identity.

Everything we do is now online. Our documents, our keychains, our communications, our money, our location, our journals… The list goes on.

In this post, I break down the components of securing your identity and assets, so you can navigate the online world with diligence and wisdom.
Know what’s at stake — and how to protect it.

Why Your Identity Is Valuable

When it comes to applying even the simplest of security controls to our digital life, many fail to keep up. Why is that? Have we become lazy? The problem is a lack of understanding how valuable our online identity really is, along with a too-relaxed tolerance for risk.

Think about it. Do you know how what hackers are really after? Do you know how much damage can be caused when your online privacy is breached? Do you know that there is no such thing as 100% security? Most of the biggest named brands in the world have been breached at some point.

There’s a brilliant quote from John Chambers, the CEO of CISCO
